Towards the end of 2000 I was doing a web search for "Freston Tower" when I found an entry from a chap on the Isle of Skye selling old picture postcards. On his Suffolk page were a number of cards in and around Ipswich including one of the Tower. A couple of emails and a small cheque later I had the card shown below.

I can't be sure, but the postmark reads "29 Jun", then perhaps 15 (for 1915). It's addressed to a Miss Simpson of 3 Baker Street in York, and appears to be from someone named Fred. His message reads:

Suff.

Dear Milly,

Just one more for the book. Here you are getting quite well & strong again, ready to look after me when I come home in about three weeks.

Love from Fred.

Notice that it doesn't say on the back what the photo is on the front.
